Accepting New Clients!
I believe therapy is a transformative journey that should be accessible to everyone. I create a safe and inclusive space where individuals, premarital couples, and families can explore their identities, navigate life transitions, and foster resilience. I aim to create a space of comfort, vulnerability, healing, and growth. I personalize interventions to meet each client's unique needs, drawing from a variety of therapeutic approaches such as Emotionally Focused Therapy, family systems methods, mindfulness, and expressive therapies like art and sandtray therapy to support your personal growth and insights as we journey together in therapy. Whether you're navigating a life transition, seeking to improve relationships, or exploring your identity, I am here to support you.
My personal journey into being a therapist was inspired by years working in higher education, witnessing firsthand the strength and resilience of individuals facing significant challenges, all while going to school, transitioning into demanding careers and other life events, and managing their relationships. This experience reinforced my belief in the power of vulnerability and connection over isolation. As Brené Brown puts it, "I define connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.”
As a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate and Professional Counselor Associate, I specialize in life transitions, stress and anxiety management, communication, self-esteem, empowerment, and the intersection of faith/spirituality with mental health. My practice particularly focuses on relationship issues and serving LGBTQ+ clients.
Taking the step towards therapy can be daunting, but it is an act of courage. Finding the right therapist is crucial, and I prioritize creating a collaborative and supportive therapeutic relationship. I invite you to reach out for a consultation or initial session when you're ready to embark on your mental health journey. Let's partner together to navigate life's challenges and celebrate your strengths.
The stats: I hold a Master's degree in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy from George Fox University, graduating in May 2024. My comprehensive internship at Clackamas and Oregon Pediatrics focused on children and families, enhancing my skills in addressing complex relational dynamics and developmental challenges. I am supervised by Meagan Sheehy, MA, LPC, LMFT.
