Accepting New Clients!

Welcome. Finding a counselor can be hard, I’m glad you’re here.

Are you feeling overwhelmed and unsure of the way forward? Are you wondering if you lost a part of yourself somewhere along the way? Have you noticed you struggle to find enjoyment from food or tend to get down on yourself about your body? Are you and your partner struggling to find deeper, more meaningful connection within the context of your busy lives? My clients often come to counseling with some combination of these concerns or doubts. Through our work together, clients develop more self-compassion and end counseling feeling more able to weather the storms of life while remaining grounded in an authentic sense of self.

I am passionate about helping both individuals and couples navigate life’s challenges. My approach is rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), two evidence-based modalities that empower clients to embrace emotions and build meaningful connections. In our sessions, I prioritize creating a safe, supportive environment for exploring your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors without judgment. ACT encourages mindfulness and acceptance, helping you identify your values and take committed actions toward a more fulfilling life.

For couples, I integrate EFT principles to deepen emotional connections and foster understanding. We’ll work together to identify patterns in your relationship, enhance communication, and strengthen your bond. My goal is to help you and your partner cultivate a secure attachment, enabling you to navigate challenges collaboratively.

I welcome individuals seeking personal growth, as well as couples looking to improve their relationships. Whether you’re dealing with life transitions, emotional distress, or communication issues, I am here to support you in your journey. Together, we can work towards a life that aligns with your values and fosters deep emotional connections.

The Personal…

Although I have always wanted to be a counselor, I took a long time to fully commit to this profession, instead having a career in community building work at the local government level in Washington state. Through that work, I continued to find the most fulfillment and enjoyment from one-on-one connections with people, hearing their stories, and doing what I could to help.

Fast forward: my partner and I decided to move back to Central Oregon so that I could pursue my dream of being a counselor by attending Oregon State University. I am happy to say that, throughout my time there, I only became more sure that this is the work I was meant to do and I am grateful to be doing it. In my free time, I enjoy reading, crocheting, woodworking, and getting to know this state again after a decade away.

The stats…

I have a Master’s degree in Counseling from Oregon State University - Cascades. As part of my graduate work I completed a year-long clinical internship. I have received specialized training in Motivational Interviewing techniques through Central Oregon Community College. I have additional training in Emotionally-Focused Therapy, through The International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy. As a Professional Counselor Associate, meaning I am working towards full licensure in Oregon, I am supervised by Meagan Sheehy, MA, LPC, LMFT. We can talk more about this in a consultation call or in a first session.
